Lack of fitness equipment: Creative workouts anywhere

Not having access to a gym or equipment can feel limiting, but you can still get a great workout with minimal or no gear.

Strategies:

  • Bodyweight Exercises: Focus on bodyweight exercises that don’t require any equipment. Push-ups, lunges, squats, and planks can be incredibly effective. Since you lack weights, increase the volume and decrease your rest intervals.

  • Use What You Have: Have a stump at knee height? Great, use it for step-ups. Are your kids playing at a playground? Perfect, can you do 50 pull-ups while they play?

  • Resistance Bands and Tempo Work: Invest in some resistance bands—they’re affordable, portable, and versatile. Also, incorporate tempo work to increase the challenge of your movements. Try slow lowers, pauses, and 1 ½ reps to up the intensity.
